Gladstone Regional Council Installs LOGOSS Safety Management Software

GladstoneOne of the largest regional councils in Queensland has announced the adoption of the Local Government Safety System (LOGOSS) distributed by Safety Concepts.

Gladstone Regional Council has over 700 staff spread over many work sites and was looking for an easy to use software solution that  complied with changing WHS laws.

LOGOSS has been developed specifically for the local government sector based on the proven IMS Safety System. It has been built and tailored to fit any council or local authority – working straight “out-of-the-box”.

Gladstone Regional Council considered a number of alternative providers but chose LOGOSS due to the full functionality of the system and the significant cost savings that a tailored solution provided. Roll out of the new system will be completed in July, making this a very fast implementation project. When installed the LOGOSS solution will link all workers throughout the organisation using .net technology across web based devices including smart phones and tablets. The online technology will help employees reduce the paperwork involved in workplace incident reporting and improve management practices in the process.

According to Gladstone Regional Council Health and Safety Coordinator Craig Cousar this is a major step in improving the way incident reporting and safety management  is conducted. What Craig particularly likes about the LOGOSS system is that it documents and collates a wide range of information that will help Council identify heightened risks quickly, at a click of the mouse, so solutions can be put in place. “It will generate reports and have filters that allow us to see where we are heading with safety and actions that need to be implemented”.

Gladstone Regional Council chose LOGOSS after careful consideration of requirements including:

  • Strong security and a track record in large workplaces
  • Easy to use interface
  • Good local technical support and training
  • Comprehensive functionality including audit, risk and case management
  • Defined escalation of tasks and case work
  • Ability to interact with other proprietry and enterprise systems
  • Management of tasks, meetings, documents and risks
  • Full compliance with Australian WHS standards and laws
  • Ability to lodge incidents and near misses from the field
  • Easy to produce real-time reporting capability
  • Low implementation and consulting costs
  • Full system administration and access
  • Future proof design allowing for new requirements eg: environmental

The LOGOSS safety solution is a fully configured software system that is tailored to the unique needs of the local authority or council. Safety Concepts can arrange a demonstration of the system by calling 1300 773801 or emailing us at
