Changes to the Queensland Risk Management Code
Workplace Health & Safety Management in Queensland is rapidly moving toward the Risk Management Philosophy utilised by the other states in Australia. The Risk Management Code of Practice is currently in draft and is expected to be implemented late 2006.
What does this mean for QLD companies? – It means you must now have a formal 5 step Risk Management Process to Identify, Assess, Determine Control, Implement Controls, Monitor and Review Controls.
For some this will be a simple change for others it could see the start of a new paradigm in Workplace Safety Management.
Does this also mean we are closer to a National Safety Management Process?
